I like the speaker location, so I've locked this one away for when the time comes.

Yeah, me too. I've got a second set of wires coming out of my stereo just waiting for another pair of speakers, but I didn't know where to put them.
    I do now!......

Hey Rob, its probably not the best spot if you want crisp clear sound, the seats do muffle them a bit. Sound quality wasnt so important on this car so they are good enough for me.

I've got a pair in the rear side panels, and a couple of tweeters up by the seatbelt anchors just behind/beside your head, so an extra pair behind the seats would just give it a bit more ooooomph I reckon. It's worth a try anyway. I'm old and don't want a super loud stereo, just something to listen to while cruising.....

I have 6x9's mounted there in my ute. I already had holes hacked in the doors, so I put 6' in there too. The 6x9's act as a bit of a sub and the 6' give you a clearer sound. Tweeters next where Big Rob has his mounted. Utes/Panel Vans are NOT stereo friendly haha

I'm kinda concerned for when the time comes to installing my stereo in my van. I'm super fussy when it comes to audio quality. Looking at roughly 12 speakers in my install....really not sure what I'm going to do

If you have the holes you may as well fill them up. I understand what you mean by the 6x9 acting like base, because of the mounting position mine have a lot more bass than normal

Your a mad man Alien, sound like a comp setup. As it comes closer you start to have second thoughts about hacking into all the hard work you have previously done to mount speakers. At least you have a bit of time to work this out
