    Note the sandman inprint on the rear tailgate, just will not go away
    she is now at the panel beaters ready to be painted....took some starting, after Rodney worked out that a lead had accidently been blasted off.....lol...not funny at the time....it would be hard to push a van onto a trailer.....

    So that is soda blasting or sandblasting? Did a good job.

    Jennie, did you ask your panel beater if he has re-sprayed cars that have been soda blasted before? Soda blasting leaves a residue on the metal which while it is good for slowing down surface rust from forming it must be totally cleaned off before any applying paint... if not the paint won't adhere properly to the metal and it will start to bubble and peel within 12mths.

    and you really don't want to hear about how I know this......:cry:

    (Rodney) Yes he suggested soda blasing, plus he has just finished two near new GT Falcons in dark blue, for Ford, obvioiusly there was some problem with paint adhesion from the factory....so I assume is knows what he is doing, but I will talk to him

    I asked the spray painter what they need to do to the vehicle prior to painting so it sticks to the steel after soda blasting, he said believe it or not, all we have to do is give it a very good wash with water, before any paint application.....up until then of course we leave it there to stop surface rusting....

    Yes back to Madeira red...no rust at all....bit of surface on the roof only....straight to paint booth....didn't need to do engine bay or inside where the tags are either....thats country living for u.... no salt, no rust just dust.... very fortunate to have picked up this beauty....
