Cheers Jaft.
-Plans for the transformation consist of in short visually
-Calais/Berlina front end,
-Custom made rear bar (along the lines of the utester/VU4YOU rear bar with weeks of little and some big changes to achieve the look I'm after).
-Wheel arches have now been pumped out to fit new tyre profile 245/35 20 up front and 275/30 20 out back.
-The whole van (or if in the case of a certain percentage of the population who can't get there head around it being a van... Ute with a Canopy) will be painted. Colour change in mind.
-There is also other changes that I would like to make depending on the motivation levels as time goes by.
Vombil.
Cheers for the comments
The wheels I feel are a good cross over from old to new and suit the 'Utility Van' well or here in Australia know them as a 'Panel van'

No I don't need a sticker package to tell me what I drive!
Still having dramas with that rear bar Smooth? Bad fit or just want to modify it?
nice thread Jon. I have looked at buying one of these too. drove it etc but couldnt get my head around how ruff it was for such a modern car... sounds like yours had a twin over here in WA! Some people just shouldn't be handed the keys to these rarer cars Agreed with your choice of the Calais fronts, they look punk.
All that said, I was close to buying an S storm Ute with an HBD optioned canopy. That's just my take on it.
Look forward to watching the progress.

Yep, really bad fit to say the least. Lots of mods and repairs needed just to get it to the point where it is a usable piece. Very, very thin walls when supplied. So have had to thicken whole lot up with 2 to 3 layers of fiberglass from behind.
Also modifying quite a bit to tie in with better with the over all style of the van.
I can look past the build quality of the vans if you can buy them for the right price and you already have the plans on redoing the work to bring them up to a better quality.
I would not buy one brand new with quality of the car as it left the dealership at $52k.
Still believe you get a lot of car for the money in todays second hand market.
