In the 'quick reply' box under here.... you'll see a little smiley icon...click on that...when a small screen comes up you'll see theres a 'more' button. Click on that and a new window will open up with a whole bunch of emoticons....just click on which ever smiley you want and it will automatically go into the quick reply box!!!

I've just made this thread so people can ask, discuss and answer things about how to do stuff with computers.

Just one long discussion about tips and tricks, and we'll probably repeat ourselves a few times but that's no problem.

So first cab off the rank is Gunna Do's problem of not knowing how to add a smilie.

    1. There is a yellow icon on the top bar or the reply post box. Click it and you'll see some smilies (click the MORE) button for more smilies - all you need to do it click on the preferred smilie and it will go in your post.

    2. Remember to have your cursor in the right place where you want the smilie to appear.

    Also this site is fun;
    http://lmgtfy.com/

It stands for 'Let Me Google That For You'
Type in your search, and it turns it into an animation - copy the link at the bottom of the page and past it into forum post.

No mate I moved it because you gave us a great idea!

A lot of people on this forum are computer shy, in fact most classic car sites.

So why not have a place for people to ask (what they feel) might be silly computer questions on how to do things?

Gunna Do - you probably have the Basic Editor enabled when you sign on.

Go the the top right of the forum and click Settings.

Scroll down and look on the left under My Account for General Settings.

Scroll down 3/4 of the way to Miscellaneous Options.

Click the radio button (round) the says Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing.

Scroll to the bottom and click Save Changes.

Then check the Reply post box in a thread and you'll see a whole bunch of cool new things you can click

This is a peripheral question. Is it possible to buy a camera, attached permanently to a PC via a USB cable, used solely to take photos for Ebay? I'm tired of taking photos, sticking the XD card into an adapter, loading into the PC, resizing etc. I have 3-4 trailer loads of electrical gear to list into an Ebay store and the biggest time taken is to get photos into the ads.
