As far I as I understand you could have optioned your sandman up with power steering and air, correct me if I'm wrong.
What I'm wondering is could you also have gone for the full luxury and had power windows from factory?

According to the HZ features manual they were not available for Sandman or any other commercials.

There was no specific option list for Sandman as far as I am aware, only whatever was optional on the base commercial or what came standard with Sandman at the time (eg buckets, console) or what was precluded because of the Sandman package (eg side strips, remote control side mirror). I don't think you could option power windows on luxury levels lower than GTS/Premier, so only GTS, Premier, LS, Statesman and Deville. They were standard on LE and Caprice.
I don't know if i'm reading this wrong, but that equipment list.....looking at front seat belt "lap centre position - non retracting" ....is that saying a centre seat belt is an option??? Therefore a bench seat was an option??
Bench seat an option in Holden and kingswood ute/van. Not in sandman package due to center console being part of the package. That's how I see it.
Yeah, but the 'S' is in the Sandman column!!! 'S' is also in the 8WM70 & 8WM80 column also!!!
s = standard

I should zoom in more on the phone, haha, oops.
Typo I'd suggest, or is this just saying the bolts for the lap sash are there?
Dunno mate....guess we'll see what the big wigs say!
Mistake. This is why I always make sure I have multiple sources for big facts, as this sort of documentation is full of mistakes. And why it is a bad idea for Joe Public to see it without context as it will be used to "prove beyond doubt" that a particular ute or van on Ebay is a bench seat Sandman.
You can also see the table appears to be flawed as it has a Kingswood column next to Sandman, then appears to contradict the info in it with 4 x 8WN columns for 35, 69, 70 and 80. The info is actually correct but very confusing, as the dedicated Kingswood column is meant for the A9K sedan and wagon (Kingswood), whereas the 8WN column is Kingswood for ute and van but Kingswood SL for sedan and wagon. The reason 3 x columns are to the left of the main table, that shown (blank), SANDMAN and K/WOOD respectively are these were meant to be seen as 3 x new models for HZ, not just option packages on existing models. The blank column was where CALAIS was, but it was deleted prior to release. Later released as the Champagne Edition Statesman.
Throughout the 70's, if you went to certain dealer's you could order vehicles with some thing's that were not generally available to everybody. I have seen said vehicles over the year's but don't have photo's or the documented proof of their existence.
If I had known then, that in 20 or 30 year's time they would be sort after, yeah I would have proof available. These vehicle's have now become landfill many year's ago, they did exist though. I would also have a "HO" falcon of each model and a few nice torana's also in a shed, if I had known.
