What? Rare Spares get it wrong.... No... I was informed their staff spend many countless hours researching before making a part and they also consult with several restoration experts.


I just checked in my Oct 80 HZ parts manual and it shows the HZ model designation being superseded by the GMH model designation. So once they stopped making the HZ they stopped making the HZ decals and if anyone requested one they were given the Commodore GMH decal.

This happens a lot and is where Rare Spares f@@k up when relying on parts manuals, you need all the versions as the latter versions will show superseded parts... Parts from the next model that can be used as a substitute in the earlier model. You can use the blue GMH 5.0 Litre decals in HZ ... They say pretty much the same as the old red decals and can be used as a substitute when the older obsolete decals are no longer available... The HX GTS dash is another part that was superseded by the HZ GTS dash.

Mine is a 7/79 HZ with GMH 5.0 Litre which I believe to be original & I've seen a few later-build HZs the same which appear to be original.

Yeah fair call, but some of the styling options on the HZ were pushing new boundaries.

Don't like the interiors in hz or the wheels had some spokes a while back before I found out they were options and gave them away for nothin !
