is this the right price for a HQ van

Hi, i want to buy this HQ pano, it has no motor and tranny, looks to have most of the parts there and he said that it has no bad rust but surface rust, and some work has all ready been done to it i have a motor here i can put in it, i haven't seen it yet but he sent me some pictures and it looks pretty good to me,

anyway, he is asking $1500 ono for it and im wondering if thats the right price to pay, i think he said he has some gts gauges in it as well,

    whats your opinion. thanks

Seems reasonable. You'll need to spend a bit on it though. Assembly and motors are the easy part. Paint and panel is where things get expensive, especially if you plan on filling in those windows.

I don't really want to restore it, yet. I want to put it together, rub it back and give it some paint, and have a weekender, im not sure on what motor to go with, a have a good 253 that looks to be rebuilt, or an old 202, but I can't drive a v8

Seem's like a fair price for it. Other's want a lot more for a vehicle in far worse condition.

Great score, but I'd be sus on the wheel studs that have had commodore wheels fitted to them as the PCD isn't quite the same (it puts sideways strain on the studs when the wheels are tightened). However it isn't a difficult or expensive fix to put new studs in.

    Good score!

Just put a 202 and trimatic in it if you can't have a V8. Easy, simple and reliable and no body mods needed at this stage. Then spend money on a 308 later.
