HQ Ute, chop or save?

    Hi Guys!
ambientgoat and I recently went in on a syndicate for an HQ ute! Goat got the engine and trans and I got the body.
What do you think? Should I chop it up or save it and return it to its former glory!

Body Shots to follow! Whats the deal with the tags any info would be awesome (HK, I know you love this!)

Quick question about tags. How are the numbers/letters put on the tag? Is Model - Trim - Lion ect... stamped on one side and then the id numbers stamped the opposite. Or is the plate a mold and the id numbers are stamped on after. Or....

It is the 21st V8 Belmont ute from Elizabeth. 5-6 months into HQ commercial production and that is all there were made at that assembly plant.

I bet it was a 253 3spd with 3.08:1 non LSD axle with no air or steer. It was a bench seat car too. If the body is good, keep it. If not cut it up. If you don't want the tags as a keepsake, send them to me. I don't buy tags, but happy to swap you something else of interest. I try to keep all sorts of tags as reference material, mainly to help spot remade tags, as originals have all sorts of quirks associated with them at different timeframes at different plants.

So if i understand you correctly HK it was the last V8 HQ built in SA?
    Here are a few pics.
note its also got courtesy light switches in the doors.
body has beauty lines on both sides the drivers side is actually quite good but the passengers side needs work.

The photos of the primed up quarters were no good. lines are there just couldn't get them in the photos.

    21-Antique saddle/brown. A- Vinyl bench seat.

Here's where it gets interesting. It's either a cool coincidence that the trim code is the same as the body number, or the guy stamping the trim code was pissed that day and stamped it where the body number went before realising his mistake.

    It'll be 21-A, just co-incidence.
