tailgate handle help

hi guys,
im getting closer to finishing my hz project and just found my upper tailgate handle is in the locked postion and i dont have a key, does anyone have handle with a key they'd be willing to sell? or has anyone come accross this ive been told they cannot be re keyed?
any help would be appreciated

If you know the key code (4 Digit) I can supply a genuine GM Key.
Possibly could be the same as your ignition or glovebox (not sure what they were up to with these late models?).

I feel your pain....I have 4 handles and 3 million keys but none match!!!

I may be wrong but if you take the handle out and flip the locking plate around at the back then you should be able to keep using the handle. it wont lock but it should keep it functioning

OR take your handle to a locksmith and give him $40. they will cut a key to suit the barrel or take him your ignition and door key and he will change the tailgate barrel to suit the other locks
