One of my favourites, that and a 1959 are pretty cool old cars. Is it an original GMH assembled car (normally with blue flame and 3spd)? Or an import?
You are probably going to have to do a wanted ad, the bits will be out there on a farm somewhere.
You will have a lot more luck with parts for your Chev here in Australia than I have for my 59 Oldsmobile, but then I dont need any parts anyway as my car was complete.
However,
Go for JUST PARTS magazine from the newsagent, there is are usually an odd Chev 59/60 for wrecking there both private and wreckers down Vic and S.A.
JUST CARS magazine at the last few pages have club notices etc, I go the the club websites and check their links usually find links to spare parts places or people wanting to wreck a car privately.
I get a lot of chrome from American Ebay its reasonably cheap to ship here except very long stuff. Doors and bonnet will cost heaps.
I have joined forums from America for my Olds and the info from where to get parts is endless. You will find the same for Chev forums.
Suggest getting in touch with companies such as Seven82 motors (and the like) who import cars from the 'States on a daily basis as they quite often have room in their containers for whatever you might need brought over. I'm thinking of course of things like body panels etc...

Dave.
Nunc est bibendum...
its an aussie delivered RHD and from what i can tell the original 283 (589 cast) power pakkie and powerglide. has factory air con too.. original paint and still drives, last licenced 1991. body good, interior good, but needs rear quarters and rear doors and bonnet and boot floor....
i am swapping it for a VX commodore (owes me $1000) and a VT Berlina (owes me $900) that i both repaired .. no brainer really.
thanks for the leads, much appreciated

Well done, an early GMH V8. Very hard to find. If it is a GMH one it'll have a GMH body plate.
the heads on it have a single hump in the middle, a round hump not a triangle.
i have never seen these before? i assumed early power pakkies.
i couldn't read head castings because it had the original script tappet covers.

They aren't early Power Packs. Power Pack heads had a triangle from 1956. They were basically the same as a 462 double hump Fuellie but used small valves for the smaller 265 and 283 engines. The single camel hump are just run of the mill low performance heads. HK GTS327 used a later version of them, small port, large chamber, small valve. Engine is probably a 2 barrel. Power Pack engines were normally 2 x 4BBL or sometimes single BBL.
