In late 1977 GM was preparing to release the HZ, here is a neat document you might be interested in, it is a list of cars from various States with their trim code listed that was to be used for the Road Fleet Test.
All margin notes are original.
Gotta love this vintage stuff!! Cheers for posting!!

Can you send me a scan of this?
Alway's good to read this sort material.
Cheer's.
"Proud To Be An Old Fart".
I wish the cars all had PSN's on them :-( At a guess i'd say most were Dandenong build, but some will be Elizabeth and the Statesmans are almost certainly Pagewood. Methinks some detective work might be needed.....I reckon I have one of the Flamenco Red GTS's recorded, it is a 6/77 build.
Edit: Guessed wrong. Most are Elizabeth build, but only 4 x Statesmans appear.

I was thinking the same thing Byron although that GTS has 18V not X, this looks like it might be a wish list given all the added scrawl down the side.
I'm surprised by the number of cloth trimmed Kingswoods requested when it appears to have been a very rare option.
Blocker could you send me a copy of this also.
at least there is one ULTRA BLUE Sandamn made..

Here are some more scans I am allowed to upload. The great thing is if they appear anywhere else on the web, we know where they came from
This is a vehicle review document that is allocated as a Press Test vehicle, a car that is supplied to the media so they can do a review. It listed all the options and accessories that the Sales Dept wanted so they could 'wow' the media.
This is the in-house docket for the final Press Test car, the Ute was pretty basic.
This is the same in-house docket for the Press Test van, you can see it got optioned up more than the ute.
The Sandman HZ ute had the following details when given to the press;
4.2 Manual ute - Rego IDX-457 (in SA)
Palais White
DY2 decal kit (called Blue Stripes)
63V Buckskin trim
Push button radio
Tag serial number was L385089
The car belonged to the Victorian Sales Department of GM before being handed over for the Press Test.
If this is the tag of your HZ ute, please let us know I know Byron would like to get more info from you.
The Sandman HZ panelvan was ordered specifically for the Press to be delivered to NSW.
L31 Manual
Super Mint Green
DL7 - delete decals
63V Buckskin trim
Tag serial number was L393956, we also have the engine number and chassis number on record! So please let us know if your tag has this serial number
