    Get a load of this, right near the beach today

    Snapped this in Newcastle this morning, stopped to park and take the picture. Hunter street leads right up to the beach for those who have never been here, slingshot distance to the harbour where I took this. 42 damn degrees before 12noon!

    Here in Griffith thismorning was 36degrees at 8am.Currently 41.5.

    Its been hotter than that for 3 weeks out west here, plus no rain for 8 weeks. ho hum bring on Autumn

    It is very rare to get that hot right near the ocean. It does 15-20kM away, but normally it will max out in the mid 30's right on the ocean. I was surprised to see it that high.

    Yes it would not get that hot at Newy, our daughter just drove through and stayed last night, wondering if she noticed the heat...

    44.8 degrees in batemans bay an hour ago!! Don't get much closer to the water than that!!
    Our place at Kianga is a 3 iron to the beach and it hit 39 this avo also!! Thank god for a slightbsea breeze!!

    45.5 degrees (officially) at Sydney at 2pm this afternoon. Not many of us were moving too far. Soft or not there was next to no breeze to even cool off in.

    They don't. Its only utes that can fly.
