What I met was.
When purchasing a sandman HQ or HJ, it came with the stripe and wording in a package, at the dealership you could get them put on or not ( this what I was told by the original owner).
HX, unsure what happen their, when purchasing a sandman, I would say the same as above.
I don't have a HX parts manual, whether it used the DL7 code - delete stripes?????
Someone who own a manual, might be able to answer that question for me.
In the HZ, you could delete the stripes from the order, which code was - DL7 - delete stripes.
At the end of the day, it was your choice whether it had stripes or not.
Don't Come Knocking If This Van's Rocking
My van also didn't have the standed rims, they were crome ROH rims.
goes to show that you used to get service at a car dealership when I bought my new triton I want the glx r (basic optioned pack) minus carpets and vinyl floors put in place, the way a 4 x 4 should be this was too much dramas and I went to a couple of different dealerships with this. if I wanted vinyl floors I had to buy the povo pack. On this site you hear of the standard vans and they would put together what ever you wanted... sometimes under false information as in sandman cases
My sister in law has tritan utes, she bought the povo pack for the same reason, wanted rubber mats..for little kids, and farming stuff..they gave her the better wheels, and swapped this for that...they were great she dealt with a mitsubishi dealership in Young NSW.....they built their own traytop with solar panel to charge up the Engel...

Back when I was young, my mate bought a HJ Sandman new and didn't want the stripes fitted. He got them in a box which he gave to me a fair while later on. I have no idea where they are now, probably thrown out in one of my moves.
Not many people wanted the stripes as a lot of vans got murals as soon as they were bought. Same goes for the wheels, everyone fitted mags.
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!
Dealers fitted HQ and HJ stripes, so you only had to ask and they didn't put them on.
Correct HK, the dealer asked me if I wanted the stripes and name put on my HQ when I purchased it new in 1974. My avatar reveals what my answer was.
