The one above the column that the rod pushes on from the key switch. Has a big plug attached to it. The pink and yellow wires are the run and start wires (or vice versa). If you bridge them together at the ignition switch it bypasses the resistor wire in the harness.

Why would this only make a difference above the 3k mark? It seems to be running really well at the moment as is, defiantly better than the old point system for sure! What changes with the extra voltage?

To get the higher voltages of the HEI setup the coil needs 12V. It'll start to break down as the engine revs increase.

Cool, I probably haven't noticed as i drive like a grandpa! I'll get onto that next, along with cleaning the engine bay.
started cleaning the car washed the outside and engine bay.
may need to do the bay again though, dont think it has ever been done.

there's shape under all that dirt! To think of all the money I spent on hanging panels when all I needed was one prem. Nice beauty lines, very nice.

The $12 air cleaner looks alot better than the dodgy chrome one.

Any hot tips on cleaning and buffing jelly bean wheels? I want to do it quick and I don't care if if I cant get all the deep marks out.
    Cheers Guys

P.S. still on 9v and still driving on the same radiator, no more loss of fluid but it does get a bit warm in traffic. Does anyone in SA have a radiator I could buy off them?

    Mook.

Sont stuff around with a second hand radiator. Buy a new one and have some peace of mind next time you take it out on a hot day!

Mate give them a wash with warm soapy water, use a fine grit sanding paper like maybe 800 grit wet and dry, use bucket of soapy water to keep sanding paper wet and sand the wheels. Change to a higher number wet and dry like 1000 or higher sand with soapy water till you see the wheels looking clean. Rinse wheels of with clean water chamois dry then get autosol paste and rub with clean cotton cloth till they go a black coulor, then buff off old paste and coulor wheels should shine. You might even have too use 2000 grit before autosol. You can always go back to the start and go again. To do this propley you would need a day per wheel, to get them looking ok now it will take about a six pack per wheel. Or Give them to a mate with a lathe and get him to do them in the mill.

Swapped the radiator out today and also installed a separate trans cooler, still running warm. Went for a quick 10 minute drive and the gauge went up to about 1/3. Had the car sitting idling for about 1/2 hour and it was sitting at about 1/2 way. Is this normal?

Yep, as long as it isn't boiling and spitting coolant out the overflow hose onto the ground (or overfilling the overflow bottle if you have one fitted).
    Nunc est bibendum...
