    Fitting or Rear Tailgate Window

What is the secret to fitting the rear window to the top tailgate, do you fit the rubber first then play around fitting the window or fit the the rubber to the glass first then insert into tailgate opening, thanks

According to the HQ commercial service manual....

Fit the rubber onto the glass, insert a strong cord in the rubber channel but have the ends of the cord protruding centrally at the upper edge of the channel....then tape the cord ends to the outside of the glass.

Have an assistant inside the body locate the window centrally in the upper endgate window aperture.

With the assistant pressing the glass firmly against the upper endgate aperture flange, slowly pull the ends of the cord from their central position towards each upper corner of the opening, down both sides and towards the centre of the glass, seating lip of channel over flange of upper endgate aperture.

Apply windshield sealer between glass and glass channel and outer wall of channel, around entire upper endgate glass aperture.

Clean off any excess sealer with a clean cloth with white spirits!!!

    Hope that helps mate!
