Road Toll and Politics

There was a recent 'small' article in the news here in SA about our reduced road toll and hospital admissions.

Ambulance officers when attending a car accident and have to transfer a person to hospital (in critical condition) must plug them into a respirator and heart monitor (excuse me I don't have a medical background) to keep them 'alive'.
The policy came down from the State government that no ambo is to have a person die on the scene or in transport, but when they get to the hospital and the patient dies there it is counted as a death by complications in hospital and not a road toll casualty. So now the politicians can say they are reducing road toll.

How screwed up is that?!?!

Don't be surprised. Look at the definitions and terminology used for unemployment. You often hear "looking for work" nowadays too bandied around.

Sounds about right for those clowns. Anything to make themselves look good. Only thing is most people see through the poo dribbling from the chins and noses of most pollies. Biggest problem is they think they're smarter than us and we couldn't possibly notice.

Here ambos will only transport if there is signs of life otherwise they ( the bodies ) are left in situ.
How long depends on lots of things like time of day, season remoteness etc.
Because a death in a crash is a reportable death it must be the subject of a coronial file and is counted in the road toll ( if it fits the criteria ) even if the death occurs some time later as long as the primary cause of death is as a result of injuries sustained during the crash.
What the polititions do with the numbers is up to them I suppose.

Politicians are good with stretching the truth and figure's, any of them will say how much better thing's would be if they were running the country. What they are doing in SA is a very low act.
