I have to put some new floor pans in my van.
I was thinking of getting this welded then started thinking about using a high strength adhesive.
Has anyone used adhesives and if so which type and pros - cons
Is it legal??
cheers wayne

I many panel shops when replacing a rear 1/4 panel these days use glue. But. There is no way I would use it on the floor. Your floor is a major strength part of the car. I cant see how any glues can be as strong as welding.

I would think welding would be safer? A guide post or something similar would make short work of glue if it came through the floor.
Glues are used these days to restick new roof's on vehicles - this joint to A/B/C pillar is structural as well.
Thus I would have thought they would be ok for a floor pan - as the glue will be applied to a great area than just the weld. Thus less stress on the material.
Still never mind we'll weld them
