Is there any way you can tell which diff ratio you have ?? Other than driving the car and watching the taco against your speed??

The ratio should be stamped on the flange next to the yoke, you may need to hit it with a wire brush. Or the age old spin the tyre whilst counting the turns on the yoke.

Cars a 1983 WB , 253 , 4 speed - Diff Salsbury , Ratio ??.??
There should be acode on the id tag under engine bay but i would say it could be 3.08 maybe
ID tag on left side of scuttle panel should list the code, probably 3.36:1 or 3.55:1 with a 253 and M21. 3.08:1 would be a pig to drive and burn out clutches, 1st gear combination would be too high.

Yes, 3.36 or 3.55. HQ-HJ 253 M20 came standard with 3.08, HX-HZ got 3.55 which changed to 3.36 later. WB should be the same as late HZ.
