Just got off the phone to Lumleys and good news!!
Sandman covered for 20K (until I supply Pics)
HZ covered for 10 k
Moke covered for 10 K
V Rod covered for 35K
Toyota Estima covered for 15K

And all this for $670 less than Shannons.
All the old cars are on the under 4000ks usage on a Stable policy. You can choose to go the 8000 ks if you drive them more. Not sure what the extra cost would be though..
The bike is on the 8000 k usage.
Toyota is a daily.

They dont cover under 25s AT ALL!! This might be a problem for some of you younger members. Althuogh My son who is on his Ls is covered till he is 18. Large excess though!

They also want Photos of all vehicles covered on the policy aswell.

So it seems Ive had a 600 + dollar day sittin at home!!
Gotta be happy about that!!

Bit off topic but is your Tarago one of the imported V6's Gaddy? Need to get the missus one soon and don't think the domestic 2.4 will cut it. Where did you get your's from? Most I've seen seem to be in QLD.

Yeah its from Japan.. Some guys in QLD Import them. Might be some wet ones on the way, or maybe just a shortage. The guy we bought from was Charlie. I think if you Google The vac truck man, he should pop up. Ours is awesome. Much better than the 2.4..
WE bought it and drove it home to NSW and it went like a dream..

Ok I need some advice please!!
So you all know the story so far on this!! Well here is a Major F*%$in# twist to things!!
My Shannons policy expired on Monday. So I rang them to update my policy info and to get another quote, which I did!! "Chriss" tells me on the phone that he would send the new Quote and policy docs to me this week, and not to worry as I was still covered under the current policy for 21 days. All good then right??
Well, unfortunately Annie had a Minor bingle in the shopping centre car park on wednesday. No probs Ill call Shannons asap and give them all the details. Easy! Right!!
Well this is Shannons position!!
Firstly they tell me that as the policy lapsed 2 days earlier, we werent covered!!
So I tell the nice girl on the phone about mine and Chris' conversation on Monday, and she changes tact!! She initially agrees that yes we are still covered for 21 days from the expiry date. Excellent I say!!

BUT!!
Now she tells me that they will not be able to approve payment for any repairs to either vehichle until they recieve payment for the renewed Ploicy!!:shifty:
So I let it slide for the rest of the call while she processes the claim. Then I go back to there website and read their PDS TWICE!! And Annie read it again today, and we are unable to find anywhere where it may elude to this clause!!
SO!!
A question to all !!
Do most Insurance companies offer this automatic extension of coverage??
Has anyone else out there had a similar experience? And if so what was your outcome??
I MUST say now that I have not yet called them back to clarify any of this as I have been a little busy, and thought Id ask on here and some other Forums aswell..
Heres Hoping for some good news responses and a HAPPY ENDING to this!!

if it's expired its' expired.

Not sure on the policy wording but it seems they are saying that they cover you for 21 days to allow you time to pay the renewal. You are only covered for the 21 days under the renewed policy. So you have to pay it to be covered.

It would be my guess that you are covered for the 21 day extension ONLY if you are planning on renewing. And they would want to make sure that you follow through with that plan.
Does it mention anywhere in the PDS about the 21 day extension at all?

Cant see that info either re the 21 days.. Just seems like its might be a Sh*t Happens scenario!!

I have found with a claim that if you pay per month insurance etc etc and you have a claim. the car is written off. You have to pay for the rest of the year. Even if you havent paid it yet. They take it out of your payout.
