^^Not only Kingswoods have the square headlight fronts. At the start of WB (4/80) this was the case, but very quickly they put the square headlight fronts on Holden models as well (8/80 for ute and van and 4/81 for cab/chassis).
My mate has a Caprice front on his WB tonner and he used a commercial bar with the Statesman number plate surround. Looks heaps better than the big rubbered bar, and if you find the bits you won't have to find a bar as well.
Just keep looking and pick the bits up. As I said, if the bottom of your radiator support is good you can unpick the spotwelds and use the bottom to repair a rusty Statesman one which you'll get for next to nothing. Headlights with buggered reflectors are not that bad price wise, just use your reflectors although you may have to buy high beam reflectors. That leaves finding a good grille, nose panel and bumperettes.

Here is a full set of repro bars, screws, nots etc to make a Caprice grille:

Here is a Deville grille for the surround:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HOLDEN-WB...item4d06ccde7d

Rust free support panel buy it now $125:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HOLDEN-WB...item3a7ba14b58

Same bloke for $125 for the nose panel:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HOLDEN-WB...item3a7ba15c83

    Headlights $100 each:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/WB-STATES...item4abe5e7eaa
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/WB-STATES...item4abe5e84dc

Bumperettes are about $165 new so secondhand you'll pay that for two:

None of that is too dear?

Thanks HK great info. I have seen the bits and pieces about which made me think I could piece one together cheaper.
Out of interest what's different on the rad support? You say the lower half is same.
Also that caprice grill looks complete? But need surround from another.

    Thanks for the help

The uprights either side of the radiator opening are different, plus the Statesmans have the A/C condenser mount. You may be able to modify yours using the Statesman uprights, but that one on Ebay for $125 grab it. Your commercial one if good will sell for more than that.

Read the ad for the grille, it is only for the bars and attchements screws. Deville and Caprice are the same surround, Deville has a plastic insert, Caprice has alloy bars that attach individually with screws at the rear.

Yes it is a Deville grille, but the frame is the same for both. Deville has a plastic insert:

    Surround:

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/GENUINE-H...item3a7a220f3e

    Surround with Caprice bars:

    Surround with Deville insert:

If you want to go this way don't muck around with that radiatior support, buy it if you can get it to you.

No. You need a Statesman (Deville or Caprice) radiator support and a Statesman grille surround, with either Caprice alloy bars or Deville plastic insert inside the surround. Plus the Statesman nose panel, headlights and bumperettes. Just look at the auction photos, self explanatory.

Been shopping around. I've noticed some of the grill surrounds have a badge in the top middle.
I've noticed them on both De Ville and Caprice. But seen both without.

    Maybe genuine and non genuine?

i reckon you'd be better placed buying a single headlight HJ X or Z front fully complete and in good nick for $300-500. Will look better than any boxy WB front in my opinion! ") but yes.. WB stato front end parts are deffo overpriced
