I just paid $300.00 for probably the last new one left on the planet after my locksmith pronounced the barrel in my one "unfixable".
If you need one, you'll pay the price.......
So there is definitely a need for Rare Spares to make them now.

Whenever we find tailgate at a swap, or backyard find we buy it, even if rusted if it's got a tailgate handle its worth the investment. Wwe had ours repaired by a local locksmith he is very obliging and does a great job. Mind you he gets loads of other work from us as we are builders so he does go the extra mile.

I got one a few years ago and it cost me $120 second hand plus chroming. Unfortunately then my painter lost the internal barrel (working and shiny). So I had to try and source another one with no luck for months, when one of my customers told me he had one with the key and all and gave it to me for nothing. So I removed the barrel out of that and fitted it into the chromed one and now have a working lock and key, plus spares. Long story short, I would have bought one in a heartbeat, if it was available, rather than all the mucking around I had to do.
