Aussie driver's side, just in front of the head on the deck of the block.
What happens if it doesn't have an engine number?
When you go to register it, you'll be sent to the Police to get it inspected and a new number issued and then stamped by an authorised person.
Some people will give them their own number too, like off an old buggered block. Not exactly legal though.
