    HX guage needle colour

I would like to know the correct needle colour for the guages in my HX.
In the HX data section on the home page it states that an HX should have a yellow needle dash, in picture 12 of 16 in mckackie's album of his unmolested HX van it has a white needle dash. I had heard that the only HX's with the yellow needles were the LE Monaros, all others, GTS 4 door, Sandmans, special order sports dash, were white needle. Which is correct?
My ute came with no instruments but I have an HZ wrecker that I bought for it's 350/TH400 for my HQ, that has a white needle dash in it. I was planning to use this dash for the HX

White. Yellow is HZ and WB. Be careful for a faithful resto though as there are a few different types eg early HJ had 5 digit odometer, location of high beam lamp etc.

From what I understand, this is a 7 digit speedo. The high beam lamp is at about the 70km mark.
Hopefully this is correct for the HX, I've seen yellow needle dashes bringing silly money on e-bay recently, so I didn't want to have to source one of those.

That's correct for HX. HJ had the high beam light in the idiot light cluster. All HX had white needle with 6 digit odometer and high beam light in the speedo.

Thankyou for your replies, they are most helpful. The more I get into restoring this Sandman, the more I will be relying on the knowledge of the members here.

feel free to email me with any questions regarding your van resto. I have not yet started on mine, but when I do, EVERYTHING will be photographed and catalogued as I strip it for accuracy during the re-build.

Thanks for that, mine's a ute but 90% of restoring vans and utes are the same. If that doesn't incite comment, nothing will!
I hope to document my rebuild with photos and a blog. My ute came pretty much as a rolling shell with doors. The front guards, inner guards, 2 tailgates, 2 nosecones, radiator support panel, gearbox without a bellhousing and a non-original engine were all in the back. The seats and a damaged console along with a cracked dash pad were inside, no instruments or GTS steering wheel. Luckily I have a lot of parts collected over the last few years, including the instruments pictured above which came in a factory 253/3spd Jasmine Yellow HZ which I bought for the 350/th400 that was in it. I had plans to build it into a mock up HJ Sandman, basically because it has a perfect single headlight front panel and radiator support and I happen to prefer the single headlight over the twin. When the genuine article came up on e-bay I figured why do all that work on a mock up when I can do the same amount of work and have the real thing

I've been searching through the forums and haven't yet found an answer. Maybe this is the thread to ask on? I'm wondering if the quad cluster guage from an HJ will work correctly if fitted into an HX? I knew the speedo was different, but not the cluster guage.
