Lot's of neat work there Alien.
I think I liked the look more with the headlights in place. Still, it's your concept.
What's with the fake Centerlines? (Cheviot Amourlites). GTS rims would look the part.
Do they match your Sandman's wheels?

    Thanks mate

Sadly the spare wheel cuts into the headlight area so it's kinda ruled that out :(

Yep, the Armourlites are just lying around so I used them so any damage that might happen isn't a big deal. I have GTS wheels that need to be painted up so they'll match the van. Same size tyre as well so I know when I mount the GTS wheels, it's going to fit no dramas.

I'll be making a bumper fit down the bottom around the indicator area as well

Must admit...I didnt think this build would involve any woodworking skills...but alas!!!

The cab wall facing the tub...i was going to use the same profile as the floor.....but because im a tightarse and dont want to pay $150 for a stamped sheet of metal, (i just think its overpriced in reality) I'll just use flat 1mm sheet but have the sandman logo on there to break it up. Just a bare flat piece of sheetmetal would look crap in my opinion... so i blew up the logo in photoshop, traced onto a bit of 16mm MDF and proceeded to get all fancy!!! It'll give it that embossed kinda look. Then i'll spray over it with chicken shit or whatever tub lining spray product i find. At almost a metre long, that should fill the gap nicely!! I'll cut it out tomorrow....cant feel my hand after all that Dremel use

Almost didnt do it just so i could hang it in the garage!! But once i started, i was pretty much committed

    Y'all like it??

You are helping me out a lot with what you've done.

I've got a HJ ute shell that I was going to sell now I have my van, but I need a new box trailer and was thinking about using the ute about 3 weeks ago when I saw a pic of the van trailer.

Now I'm set. You've done a great job and solved a few problems in advance for me. I can't wait to see yours finished.
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!

Looks good Ivan, I think you probably should have dremeled out the black area if you plan to paint it in chicken shit.

No probs Big Rob. Theres some way to go yet for mine...but its getting there. Hope you get a start on yours soon

I'm not far off rolling the chassis under it and getting it rolling

Innuendo.....i thought of that too...but the HQ/J sandman logo needs to have its outline. Had i done the black parts, i wouldve lost that. Besides...there was less to dremel in the blank section

I have a great Ryobi router....its just a bit big for the job at hand. Any mistake with that, it wouldve wrecked the whole piece Needed a delicate touch....took me freakin ages to do!!!
