    1974 HJ Panelvan

i have been wanting a Holden panelvan for a long time now, but they are hard to find in cairns, but i have finally found one

here is my HJ i picked up for $1600 (i paid a bit more then whats its worth, but i just love panelvans so much)

it has a GTS dash (i think), floor shifter and a 253 that is seized up, good thing i have a spare rebuilt HZ 253 to put in it
i was starting to think it was a sandman but they say it was a 3 seater

my plans are to restore it

i dont have it yet, im still paying it off

That's the go bud, you'll find plenty of info on here to help when you start the resto too, so welcome to the site and keep the pics coming, everyone loves seeing van pics.

No need to, you beat me to it!

Nice find too, an early V8 HJ van. This is the earliest Acacia Ridge HJ commercial I have yet recorded. Absinth yellow too! Not a Sandman as you say but still a V8. This is the best of the HJ V8 manual vans or utes too. The 4spd ones were terrible in reverse with the 3.08:1 rear axle, as the 253 4sp is 3.05:1 reverse so reversing a trailer sees you slipping the clutch horribly. The 3spd's are 3.59:1 reverse so they do it easily.
