Where was this photo taken? Seem to remember a similiar display of old holdens at either the F1GP in Melbourne or the Indycars at Surfers.
Euchuca Holden Museum....there is a HZ windsor blue van there as well....if you are ever there it is well worth a look.....
centre roof mounted aerials were an aftermarket item but you could order anything from your holden salesman so if you wanted centre type you got it...
gaurd mounted aerial was only with the radio..no radio no aerial....gaurd mounted aerial is on a ball and can be adjusted to tilt back slightly..
if you are after a factory correct aerial get jenny to take a picture of her knob....the one on the tip of the aerial..:errf:
they are different to aftermarket...
4/75 HJ XX7 Sandman Panelvan ... Persian Sand currently restoring
7/76 HX Monaro 4dr 308 4sp... Absinth Yellow and rusty as hell.. SOLD
3/77 HX Sandman Panelvan ... Absinth Yellow and rusty as hell .. SOLD
Here are a couple of pics of the Antenna to add to this there is a little two prong key which locks the arial down, it is still on the original set of keys.....so this is also factory I guess...and very funny Absinth.......
that pic just proves how difficult it is to take a good picture of a knob....
see what happens ya get all excited and tilt ya head wrong..
and yes that is a correct aerial..

hahahaha thanks very much guys, youve been a great help. Your time uploading knobs is appreciated!

hey my original sand man ute had a rubber stripe through the bumper and if you go and have a look at this ute its been smashed look at gaps around the bonnett etc 63 000miles i dont think so
Rubber strips on bumpers are not standard on Sandman's. It could be optioned but it is not standard. More likely add sometime later in most cases.
I have seen and studied this Ute and the front spoiler is not factory. Every chance it has been smashed and repaired at some stage. As for the speedo reading, I don't have any reason to believe or disbelieve it. Doesn't matter one way or another to me.
It's a tidy Sandman Ute, but it's not perfect.
