Gday,

After breaking a few lock plates over the years, I have decided to make my own beefed up version.

What I want to achieve is smooth opperation, STRONG, light weight, simple & concealed... (Nothing worse than hair getting caught in it)

I'll let you know as I go along. Will put up as many pics as I can, as a picture tells 1000 words. I refuse to bore you with long posts on sizing / dimensions / specs etc...

Will be made using only two machines; drill press / bench grinder + various hand tools.

thats a lot of effort when you can buy them new for 40/50 bucks... i have sold quite a few and even used one in my van..its a good quality reproduction.

I totally agree oxbox, It will be ALOT of effort. And no doubt cost a considerable amount more than a reproduction assembly when complete. However, as I progress, the benefits will be made clear.

If you want a good job done, you've gotta do it yourself...
