Speedo Drive - wanted

Hi, after having done the conversion to Mr Beigy, the speedo is out by 20ks at 100ks/hr... i need a speedo drive to bring it back in line, was thinkg of doing the diff conversion, but that'll slow him down on take off so thought i'd go this way. I have a turbo 700 and a 1:3:36 diff... anybody got any ideas where i can get a speedo drive to suit? Tried Ozbox... he suggested to set a satnag, which i have, but wld like to have it corrected in the van if i cld.... any help please?? thanx

So it's still a cable speedo drive is it? You can get a little converter box made up. Tell them the speed the car is doing and the speed it reads and they fit up the ratios to suit. Can't remember the name of them though.

Or buy for the right speedo gear for the 4L60. Same as you would do with a TH400, TH350 etc. You may need the right housing for the gear depending upon how many teeth you need. People will have them locally too like Rare Spares. Or get a housing and gear off an old TH350 or TH400. You'll have to pull yours out and count the teeth, work it logically. If yours is reading 120 at 100 then you are out by 20%, so you need 20% more teeth on the gear, or vice versa.

Thanks guys... i've looked at rare spares... nothing on their website, i mite go in and chat to them, they may have something anyways. the speedocalc thingo doesnt have TH700 as a selection. I have the turbo 700 which is 4spd auto out of a VN commodore. You'd think holden would still have them, but apparently not. either that or i was dealing with someone who didnt know... kinda the blind leading the blind i guess. Shall do some investigating with info above.

Most VN-VP with 4L60 all have the same speedo gear as almost all of them are 3.08:1 axle. Pull the adapter out of the side of the box and count the teeth on the gear. Work out what you need and buy the right one from the US, that Ebay link I put up has free postage. You may need the carrier too depending upon what teeth count you need.
