Thanks for your help , will try the higher 100/55 globes , if no good will shell out a few $ for the new reflectors. Current reflectors don't look too bad though..

100/55 may not help you though as 55W is the low beam and it is probably what is in there now on low beam. Have a look first.
I went for brighter bulbs and relays but it melted the connector on the headlights. Just replace the reflector and accept that 30 year old rectangle headlights are not very good.
Sandman Lights.jpgJust back from a drive ,took a photo of the van with HID bulbs on low beam .HID light kits easy to install and will leave every thing else in the dark!!! WE might have 70's Vans but let's move up with this century lights.
Put in a couple of the Blue Light Globes 60/55 and they blew the fuse altogether , wonderful , back to the drawing board !! I think i'll have to concede defeat and get the new deflectors , although the HID does tempt me..
You'll have to remove the glass to get to the reflectors, so maybe try cleaning the chrome. It may just be dull. Be creful removing the clips that hold the glass to the housing, they can crack the glass.
I have 130/100 in mine, got an auto elec to rewire etc, leave a gap in the boot, i..e where the connector goes through the boot, cut it a little to allow hot air to escape. Have had this for 3 or so years, all good. No reflector damage etc.
it's here and I love it!!
