Converting and HQ Door

Has anyone here converted an HQ door to a later type,
The only difference i could find was that there was one pressing missing near the front with one hole in it. so a section was removed from a donor door and welded in.. I hope this works because i don't want to have a door with the corner piece and not the other. i also don't have any of the HQ mechanisms or glass.

It also needs to have the "wedge" in it.
This sits at the front of the window.
HQ's dont have this wedge but HJ - WB do.
You'll also need HJ - WB mechanism's as the HQ has a different window

good to hear,
I have a few wedges that sit in the front corners of the glass. I noticed that lots of these wedges are a bit crusty, are the aftermarket ones any good?

I don't know, as they are the front window runner i don't know if you can get them aftermarket or not.

i think that they are just pop riveted on to the belt. Ill have to have a squize at them when i get a chance.

Isn't it the other way around? HQ have the wedge but HJ-WB don't.

My understanding is that the HJ-WB have a plastic wedge at the front bottom corner of the door. and HQ has the little plastic triangle at the top front corner of the frame that the baley channel goes through..

BTW. I have never owned a complete car, only 4 in various stages of completness...

So any help is greatly appreciated.

HQ have the wedge at the top front corner of the window frame... I don't know what the plastic wedge at the bottom front door corner is you are talking about.

i cant remember if its visible or not but on the later doors there is a little plastic triangle that sits between the door frame and the metal door runner channel. the rubber channel guide sits over it.
