Yes Alien, agreed. Not the best version I've seen, by far.
"Proud To Be An Old Fart".
Seems to have a hoodlining in it too, I hope it wasn't something really worth keeping.... On another look though the LH gutter has been shaved or just plain rusted off....
It can be hard to design a front with little imagination. I'm (slowly) fiddling around with a HZ ute tub at the moment with toolbox/front designs. The latest one has me using an old front apron with the lights "painted" in and the grille (sealed from behind) hinging forward at the bottom as a toolbox lid. Or possible a small lid using the very front 6-8 inches of the bonnet.
More design work to do yet... and of course it wont be everyone's cup of tea when finished.

Sounds good Taily...any pics?
I wonder if it's still running the diff or just a lazy axle
If it was in aust it would be cheap enough for the spares tail gate and upper rear door

Still doing drawings and a lot of holding front aprons up in position etc at the moment looking at how much of the door sheet metal I'll need to use to graft it all together. Don't think it will be anywhere near as flash as your one with the sectioned roof/pillars though! Thought I'd keep the standard length tub and stand the front wall upright and put a toolbox in front of that, using a small section of bonnet (around 6 inches) out to the apron, which (in the latest idea I have) will have the lights removed, plated then lights painted in place so as to avoid silly questions from the Plod etc....
Small other problem is too many other little jobs on the go at the moment too....

Dave.

Hey Dave..great to see another trailer in the works!!
I also thought of using the front apron too...but i think i'm too anal about the front panel lining up with the rear quarters....so im going to give that idea a miss. Instead i'll likely make up some wheel wells and mount the spare wheels vertically in that...but still using a 10inch front section of a roof and sheet along the roof line...if that makes sense!!! I have a cool triangular Kinchrome toolbox i'll mount on the drawbar....which i scored for virtually a large big mac meal!!!
It would be really cool if you started a thread of your build, you'll be surprised how the other forumites get you to think outside the box with clever ideas!!!
