Grille Relief Valve Assy suit Body Lock Pillar HQ-WB Monaro/Ute/Van - Demand?

I work in the Product Sourcing and Development department at Rare Spares. We are currently investigating whether the below pictured Relief Valve Grille Assembly (GMH P/No: 2816126) is a desirable item and worthwhile us remaking. They appear to suit HQ-WB Monaro/Ute/Van.

We would appreciate your thoughts and comments on this part. Are they in demand?

    Hi Edan,

My experiances are the ones in the door cavities are normally ok but the ones on the inside are damaged due to objects stricking them when placed behind the seats. Are the door ones common at all with the sedans? I thought the inside ones were unique to commercials.

I don't think the sedans or wagons have these at all Mauser.

As for desirability, of the 6 or so vehicles I have that do have them, non are missing or busted beyond repair. Ozbox will be the man who knows whether they sell or not but personally I'd be hesitant to pay more than $10 or $15 for a repro one when there are so many wrecked utes around. I'd rather see HQ Coupe stainless trim or something like that reproduced.

There you go then. Same size? I don't sit in the back that often.

Not sure if they are the same or not. Look similar though.

Yes, the sedan version is a different vent unfortunately. Thanks for the feedback, it's all food for thought.

The vent relief valves with the little rubbery bit in them, (I put a thread up in Ozbox workshop on how to clean these) can be non repairable, brittle and/or pershed, and all these things will be difficult to source one day, so yes. (these were for vans only and not utes as vans had 2 without rubbery bits, and 2 with)
I just wanted to suggest you did mudflaps exactly like the ones you used to buy, I have a whole set of commercial NOS you could look at as a template, but I would need assurance they wouldn't get lost as I paid dearly for them..I would also love you to make front blinkers left and right so you don't have to grind off the lug, and the belmont ones as well as Kingswood. We bought some outer door weather strips, Part RD21050and 49 they were a very good reproduction, and fitted perfectly the best we have had, and these are the third. Also the bonnet lacing was very good, as were the consoles.

    Just a bit of feedback
    Cheers Jennie

    My wish list
    -Interior light cover
-Insert panel for the radio hole
    -Sun visors
    -N67 spare wheel cup
    -standard petrol cap
And the usual factory "Virgin" that came with every Sandman.
I'd prefer reproduction as NOS would now be 35+ years older...
