    Vh cdt commodore brochure

I recall a couple of weeks ago looking at a thread which showed photos of a member's CDT Commodore project. I mentioned I had a CDT Brochure and that I would try to find it and post pictures of the brochure....so here they are. I just hope the member who has it see's this thread.

There's bloke on facebook by the name of Murray Choat. He's big on them and has a collection of them. Send him a message, he might be able to help.

    Regards

I get the handling, suspension etc, but WTF? Who would want a 4cyl Starfire turbo VH Commodore?!? These were terrible cars with UC Torana brakes, 13" wheels and 3.9:1 diff. The 6cyl cars would be OK but they only list the 173 for some reason. You'd have been better off just buying a 308 4spd from GMH and doing CDT's no.9 pack on it. Or just getting a HDT SS - I bet the HDT group 1 (253 with M21) would easily outrun a turbo starfire!

The Gemini had a bit better power/weight. I think I only ever saw one during my time at Packards but remember it went OK, as well as an Isuzu could go I guess. From memory there was a flares/wheels/suspension package that worked quite well, enabling you to stay on the loud pedal a bit longer in the twisties, hence they felt a bit quicker than a std Gemini. Can't remember if they were 4 or 5 speed though.

Haven't ever seen a CDT commodore in the flesh.

Well since I am sooo old, I do remember them, and I remember our friends bought one brand new, it was Lemon in colour, Probably Jasmine Yellow, and it was a Lemon in nature, all they did was complain about it, and it spent more time back at the dealership for repairs, and warranty than any car I had anything to do with...funny that I remember these things...'
HZ Jasmine Yellow Windowless Sandman, now being driven everywhere and is finished!
HZ Madeira Red Windowless sandman now Sold to Bigrob
HX Mandarin Red Sandman Ute finished, and club registered
1979 HZ malachite windowless van with 308 5spd, all chromed up and shiny finished and named "The Player"
