They say the hoses are too porous for the new gas but they will work. I converted our old 12r gas AC systems on our tractors over to 134a gas and they didn't change anything. My wb runs on as well but I got it re-gases with that propane mix stuff and it promptly froze up and wrecked the compressor.

I too thought the hoses had to be changed. Mine was done about 15 years ago from R12 to 134a.

    Can still use original hoses.
Drain the oil from the compressor and put a PAG oil in it.
Change receiver drier and charge fittings.
Regas on R134a and away you go.
I put 550g in mine and it's just right. Head pressures are good as well.

BUT BEWARE.... as of July 1 A/C regassing WILL be going up. There is a new type of gas on the market and buying prices will increase by 300 to 400%. R134a WILL be getting phased out.
