    Hose clamp help

    Can anyone confirm that the GMH Utilux type hose clamps were Gold

    Not the ones I have pulled off a HQ but then again they are 40 years old and been wrapped around a hot pipe. I guess they could of changed anodising along the way between models too.

    If no-one here knows I would try fastlane.com.au or GMH-Torana.com.au .... Torana\Monaro enthusiasts are anal about date codes and whats correct..... Sandamanics just wanna drive it... and anything else they can get in the back. :-)

    Those look gold but I have some off a '72 HQ 202 Sydney car that are silver. Maybe after a long time it changes. I thought they used to have a gold tinge but not real yellow bright gold.

    They (the ones that are left) have a gold tinge on my HJ.

    zinc and yellow chromate was a very popular finish specified on lots of small parts / fasteners. Gave over 100 hrs salt spray testing from memory. Just about any plater could replicate.
