Identifying an engine

I have just recently bought a red 308 and the guy told me it originally came out of hq gts, is there anyway to tell if this is correct?
Engine number is QT216077 ,going by the QT it could be from a hq but is there anyway to tell from the rest of the numbers?
Cast date is H252 and the dial is pointing straight down (no idea how to read that) if thats any help as well.

IIRC, the old style date code makes it 25 Aug 72 and I have recorded numbers around that fitted to mid Sept 72 HQ's, the engine could have been fitted to any HQ other than a Statesman.
