    new to forum

    hey guys/girls been sneaking around the forums the last few days reading and looking at everyones awsome vans and info and thought i would finaly introduce myself properly.

    im in perth and currently on the search for a van to have some fun with i have been playing with cars since i got my first at 14 which was a 2 door lj torana 4cyl (TA)

    my parents had a 1976 hj sandman from new which he turned into a show car winning multiple trophies which he still has today car also appeared in the custom van and trucks magazine NO.14

    0488tinter: yes van is long gone but still has his trophies i have looked high and low for this van over the years but with out any of the vans actual details has been a dead end really.

    What an awesome van from the past. You never know, it might reappear one day just when you least expect it. Love the newspaper clipping. I wonder what price they had on the SS hatchback?

    Interested we love those sorts of pics, especially since your parents are true vanners.....I hope you find that van.it was awesome....we are looking for our original sandman, which we have replicated with our Jasmine yellow van. rodneyhz253, and I were married 25 years last year and did it up for a second honeymoon...

    If you can get your parents to look for old rego papers and get the engine and/or chassis number i'll see what I can do.

    sandman77hx: the ss hatch was $5399 in bright orange duco with red and deep orange sports paint outs

    HK1837: we have no details wat so ever on paper on the van just from memory which is a shame but this was sold around 79-80 all we know is it was blue 253 manual from factory and was ordered for a farmer who then changed his mind as the hx was just released and this van was tucked away in the back of the yard
