    Chev Ute

My dad recently died and I've found myself part owner of this with my brothers. It's rough as and has been let go for a few years by the look of it but we're going to finish it for the old man. Won't be done anytime soon though. I don't know much about the history of it, but I've been told it's one of two built by a bloke in the Hunter somewhere.

Anyway, thought I'd share it as it's something different.

Can you get the ID plate details and engine number to me off it? This is probably a GMH assembled 1968 Impala and will have the auto version of the HK GTS327 engine in it. The other one of these is still around up here somewhere, it is a 1969 Pontiac though, but the GMH assembled Pontiacs ran a Chev chassis and engine so basically the same bar the cosmetics.

I'll hit my brother up to grab the tag details off it when I speak to him next as it's at his place. It was a 400 when my dad got it, but that died. It's got a crate 350 in it now.

Do you know who built them, HK1837?

No I don't. I didn't even know there were more than one, just I'd seen the Pontiac around multiple times over the last 20 years. Shame it is missing the original 327.

My brothers sold this a while ago. I found out when I went to visit and asked where it was.

I'll just say that it wasn't a particularly happy trip after that.
