I bought some Rares rubbers ten years ago when I did up my HX work ute and they were shocking. I had to really slam the doors to close them and the rubbers pushed the top window frame out, I ended up moving the door hinges and striker out to ease the pressure off... looked terrible with the doors protruding out from the guards and body but at least I didn't have to slam the doors anymore.
I bought a set of rubbers a few weeks ago that Harrisons Holden spares have had manufactured and they are a vast improvement over the rares ones. I removed the old rubber from the passenger door on my Sandman and fitted the Harrisons rubber to check the fit and was very impressed with it..... I told Paul if they didn't work on my door before restoration I would bring them back for a refund.
I don't know if they are doing Torana ones yet but will be going past them tomorrow for work and can ask if you want. I know some guys on other forums have had trouble with slow postage from Harrisons so if they have the rubbers and you want some I can pick them up and send them to you.

I know the mob in Qld that is doing these.. It looks like they are going to be the way to go. I am working on the Hatchback Rear Quarter Window seals. So between them and me, we will have it sorted..

I was down there talking to Paul today and they are out of stock for door rubbers but are expecting a delivery of material next week.
Jason, I asked a while ago if they would be doing complete kits and was told yes. I don't know if they are available yet but they do have the bailey channel, inner and outer door window seals (these are excellent and have far better metal clips on them than the Rares ones), Panelvan upper and lower tailgate seals that I know of.
Mick, are the Torana hatch rear quarter window seals pinchweld with the rubber seal on it? I sold my A9X hatch back in 1986 and don't have much recollection of it when it comes to how it was put together. (Actually I traded it on a Brock Director.. Oh to be young and stupid again...)

SS good to see you guys giving it to the rare spares blokes and letting them know that they can't get away with producing crap and that other people can and will do it.
Yes mate
they are.. they are a black pinchweld with a seal on the outer edge.
The ones that RSP sell are so wrong!! I have known of some guys actually breaking that rear window when thay have tried to lock it closed!! It is scary, that's for sure..
Because I was already doing the Pinchweld, it was a no brainer to look at this..
As far as giving it to Rares, I am more dissappointed that Holden will not allow other manufacturers to be part of the Resto Parts Program..
And yes, it's about time that we all had good quality restoration products.. These cars deserve the best!!
cheers
Mick
