    That's pretty right Byron. The other issue with ordering 308 vans was the cascading effect. GMH Acacia Ridge was allocated a supply of 308 monthly and they were installed in order from the Statenman Deville model down to the lowest of the low (Belmont Panel Vans). If they ran out before they got to the vans you got put on the next month's order. That's what the excuse was every month when I use to go to ask where my van was . . So order a six cylinder van and you got it quicker.

    Not a really effective way to sell a product, especially when the customer is paying such an amount of money. Usually on a loan.

    Explains a lot why Sandman HQ's are so thin on the ground, also come the last few months and they would want to be doing model run out to avoid clashing with HJ stock coming in. That on top of the 1973 oil crisis which went from Oct 1973 to Mar 1974 would have put a dampener on orders for V8's at the time.

    The oil crisis was a classic. Also around the same time we were supposedly heading for another ice age, due to pollution. Now we have global warming.
