He's a photo of a sticker I recall getting way back when and putting it on my Lego case. It's there right next to the Waltzing Matilda jet truck sticker and my 8 year old son now has that case for his matchbox cars. Guess the van attraction started at an early age for me but had the sense to stick with the Holden product. My son also loves vans and he's under no illusions.....Sandman is best, but Sundowners and Drifters are still cool.

That's a nice sticker, doubt very much you could ever find another one. Drifter's and Sundowner's are cool, they are just not around anymore, which is a shame.

No I didnt have the pleasure of meeting you but I certainly did appreciate both your vans. During the van in it was difficult talking to some of the owners due to the attention their vans were getting plus I was on crutches and mindful of not getting too close. Perhaps another time.
I know a bloke in the territory with a drifter van, sitting under a tarp rusting away. he recon's he will get to it one day. been offered good money but won't sell it. i wonder how many of these were actually sold?
V8 drifters are rare as are a lot of other vals,i know of quite a few vals just rusting away because their owners wont part with them.I would really like to own a VK 770 charger
Apparently there were only 1400 or so Valiant vans total, so the number of them that were Drifters would be pretty low.
i heard 400 drifter vans and 120 utes.

338 Drifters were made. 90 of those were 4.3ltr 6 cylinder and 248 were the 5.2ltr V8.
I knew a bloke with a Drifter Van back in the day, bought new in Charters Towers. A mate of a mate. White with blue stripes. V8 too. Never knew they were so rare... That's when everyone was into what they used to call 'fox hunts', chasing someone around town using CB's to track them down.. I remember him being big into CB's.
