Whats the go with tyres these days and into the future for our old Holdens (HQ-HZ)

Ive been out of the game for awhile and have 2 projects on the backburner - HQ sedan and HZ van,
both with mags from the early 90's which are still in very good nick - 2 (14X9.5) & 6 (14X8), I'd like to run them again but unsure of todays & future tyre options,
back in the day all i ran was 245 & 265/50/14 Eagers.

Im guessing tyres for 14X6 rims are still easy enough to get hold of today....great if your after the standard look,
but is it game over for the guys with 14X8+ mags wanting to fit 245 & 265 - 50 series tyres to them?
I heard awhile back that Bridgestone, yokohama and BF Goodrich had stopped making the wider - low pro street tyres.

Are 15inch rims the answer, should i be looking into plan 'B' like fitting gts centres into 15 X 7or8 inch rims.... or will the 225 to 255 X15 tyres get harder to source as time go's by?

I'd like to keep sum rubber under the car but don't really want to go less then 235 front and 245 rear.

what will be the best option for the years to come?...
