    HQ Ute said to be early prototype Sandman for Sale.

    Here is an add for a "ASSUMED EARLY MODEL PROTOTYPE HQ SANDMAN UTE 3/1973" for sale. Unusual to sell two cars together.

    Load of sh!t. Prototype Sandmans were the Ewe't and its clone. These were early 1972 build.

    Why would there be a .."Prototype Sandman"..in the first place? They are a ute or van loaded with extra's, to create another model. There would be no road testing of any sort, the only testing, if at all, would have been marketing.

    Maybe he has used too much GOEY and the factual information is a bit clouded.

    To guage market interest, hence the Ewe't.

    Then to build pilot cars for brochures and advertising. HQ has no photos of real cars so we can assume there was no pilots. HX and HZ we know there were pilot/prototypes built.
