    yes you most surely get better coverage dark and dark. i painted chrome yellow over grey primer once. total abortion!

    you need white or very light grey primer when doing yellows and oranges etc

    white seems to cover grey easily. i think the bright colours just have poor coverage.

    When i spray my holden red engines whether its rocket red or chevy orange
    i always get the best result with a white primer

    DSC02932.JPGI paint lots of bicycles and the same applies.... I have had some terrible results painting yellow and orange over any undercoat except white. As long as you paint them white first, the colour just pops and looks great.

    I had to do a metallic red frame a few months back and didn't have any, so I sprayed the frame silver and then laid on a few real light coats of red and it turned out to be one of the best paint jobs I've done. Customer was very happy.

    Base coats are so important to the final result. Thus the black under the Malachite.

    If I were looking to keep an original look to it (that would still pop) I'd use silver as a base.

    Something different.... Maybe gold underneath. Would certainly have a different look.

    DL7 was a delete stripe code. Meaning it was A box of nothing. Just being silly max
