It is definitely not a Sandman. Pretty rare build configuration though for a HX Holden van that isn't a Sandman.

Do you think theres a chance they used run out gear from the HJ as some of those numbers like the Trim
    Code match Hj

Thanks for that, is it because of the 2200 weight its not a sandman or would appreciate
and feedback as I agree plate configuration is unusal

Black trim is the problem. HX Sandman got Slate black, normal HX Holden van got Black trim. 2200kg is still the right GVW for HX Sandman van with V8, only option XX7 got a reduced GVW.

Do you think with the numbers I should still pursue this. I have not asked for the chassis rail number
to see if that matches, is that worth a look.

If you want a Sandman then this is not what you are after, just like HK said it is not a Sandman because of the trim code.

If This car isnt of interest to you now that you know its not a sandman... You could post up where it is for sale as there are plenty of people around that are chasing a good clean well spec'd van... And not necessarily a sandman...

If it is a very good body and you want a van, why not use it? It is red with black trim, 308 4spd. It isn't a HX Sandman but it is still a worthwhile van. All you need to add is full length headlining, U17 instruments, mirrors, blackouts and possibly stripes. It shoud have just about everything else. Don't overcapitalise on it, only do this if you don't have to spend too much $, but if it is useable as it is a few bucks to make a replica is not silly.
