car trailers

Hi I am after opinions on car trailers. Specifically tilt a trailer tandem maybe a bit expensive but seem to have lots of extras see below. Anyway thoughts appreciated.

The tandem tilta trailer has been specifically designed to carry heavier vehicles (up to 2000kg). Unlike our single axle Tilta Trailer that tilts on a balancing principal, the tilting action with our tandem trailer operates through airbags. The airbag suspension is used to lift and lower the trailer for loading of vehicles and provides a smooth ride for your vehicle.

Hi Adam the one I am looking at is about an extra $800 as compared to over east. The irony is I need it to tow from WA to over east. I can get my car on a back load to the east but will still have to get my tow vehicle over. Dolly types aren't really an option for me as a lot of the time it is shells or works in progress.
Cheers for the info.

I'am interested in this topic I have bogie tip trailer that weight more a ton so when I carry a car it always overloaded

This is a trailer my brother made it weights about 2.2ton and can carry 2.3 ton a bit useless but is handy because of the length .it needs to be towed by a truck is the only problem, although he keeps the trailer total below 3.5 ton and pulls it behind his cruiser I think the rta won't agree with his theory

It has brake away electric of course

RodneyHZ253 I thought there would be more input as well. My reason for starting the thread is I am contemplating the trip across to Bathurst for GTR and XU1s on the mountain. I have never been to Bathurst before let alone out of WA so it would be a real adventure. I decided it would probably be better to tow my XU1 rather than drive. My cars finished in acrylic lacquer and is prone to stone chips. At the moment I have a car trailer bit sentimental about it as I have had it for 20yrs. But for the trip I would need to put 3 inch dropped axles, new bearings, new brakes at the moment its hydraulic but I think cable is the way to go less problems. Also look at Metal fatigue, lengthen the ramps and try and lighten the old girl as she weighs in at 780kg inc. I ask myself is the time money and money worth it on an old trailer or is it time to move on. I have been offered a trailer to use but I am not much of a borrower. I started looking at all types of trailers whilst expensive the tilt a trailer seems to be a good insurance type trailer well made easy to load. I've seen quite a few cars driven off ramps or into the side of guards or doors opened into guards. Feedback appreciated. If I do make it across I would really love to meet some My Sandman forum family and have chat and a beer. PS I post some pics of my car trailer soon.

Cheers Dave

Jeez dave thats a long way to tow a car if it was me i would be looking at an enclosed tralier just for peace of mind and it wont get any damage when all tucked away you must be able to hire one surely
your torana is worth to much not to be locked up overnight when staying at motels you wont get much sleep if its outside in view of people
cheers gene.

Guys, im here reading this too, im on the hunt for one and being in NSW there making trailers way to pricey for what they are, the local clown near my work again great service not, i got quoted 2600 for a 9x6 single axle box trailer with brakes, see my problem is i cant justify a seperate trailer, so thinking a box trailer would be better, also im not shipping around big cars, lol my minis can almost fit in my 8x5, length is issue

1badvan were thiniking about the Torana show too tell me more about your torrie and get some pics up in other rides
