Pink resister wire?

Hello again,
Is the pink resister wire in the HJ inside wiring loom to drop the voltage down for the coil?
If not, what's is for?

Thanks mate. It has a after market electronic dizzy on it now which incorperates the coil.
I'll have to check the input voltage and bridge the resister if it requires 12 volts.
Does that sound right?
