Starter motor ghost...

I was with V6hqute having a play with my van when I was closing my upper tailgate and the car tried to start itself!

The keys were in my back pocket and the motor was turning over. It didn't kick over and we had to disconnect the battery to stop it. Upon reconnecting the battery the starter kicked in again. Still wouldn't start though.

This happened a few more times and all of a sudden it was ok again. I started her up and ran it for a minute before the starter motor engaged again and we had to disconnect the battery.

Any ideas??? :(

We had a look at the wires but couldn't see any frayed or shorting out.

Could be something busted off in the solenoid would be my guess. A bit of copper from the contacts has probably worn through and is now flopping around inside.

I have a auto elecy coming over in the morning to have a look I will let you guys know... -_- a first of many issues ha ha. It's all good fun though.
