Why didnt the HQ Sandman get carpet in the front compartment?

Looking through the resources hosted by HQSS I noticed this.

The listing has the console as the one with the hole in the body and it got rear carpet in that opening...

Why didnt it get carpet in the front compartment like the others? haha Ripped off.

Maybe they are only talking about the seat sep not a Sandman. A bit further down a Sandman is referenced with the blank for the ashtray hole.

No carpet because it is easier to get the sand out of the car after a day at the beach than it would be if you had carpet!!!

It is talking about console, not seat separator as it say console. It could be that HQ XV2 got the extra carpet, and HQ XX7 didn't. Or it could just be another parts catalogue error where there shouldn't be an X in the 801 802 column for the front console carpet line.

Just threw it up there as a general interest item.

I had a '74 HQ Statesman and it had black carpet pieces in both compartments.

Paul's SS resources has lots of good HQ pictures and information. :-)
