Here we go again...
I've managed to figure out most of the electrics so far but I am stumped with the reverse lights.
To give you some idea of what I'm dealing with... It looks like the previous owner had trouble with the headlight switch ( had melted when a twin headlight front was fitted without a relay by the looks of it ) so instead of fitting a new headlight switch he has wired up some weird complicated 2nd switch under the dash where the wires are just twisted together. How it didn't catch fire I'll never know. Thankfully he has been thoughtful enough to use the same coloured wire everywhere
( Please note the level of intended sarcasm in the previous sentence )
Anyway I have found the reverse switch. One end has 12v with ignition on which is right I think but the other end goes to a single plug and then no-where.
I obviously can't just wire the power from the switch to both rear blinkers because then they'll just be hazzard lights when I use the blinkers.
I have a wiring diagram but can't seem to trace the right wires.
Hopefully someone can help me with:
Does the car just put power to both rear blinkers as reverse lights?
and if so:
Where do I pick up the blinker wires so that I can put power to both of them in reverse and still have them work independently when they are blinkers?
The other option is to mount a clear light at the baack and just re-wire it.
Thanks again for any help I can get.
